Here we are, at the age of 61 I am about to enter the world of blogging, I suspect there will be a few missteps along the way as I learn how to manage a website, albeit a small one.
I will add more biographical information as I go along, however for the purposes of introduction I was born and grew up in Guernsey in the Channel Islands, moved to London in my late 20s, and have been resident in a small village in Aberdeenshire for the last 9 years.
What about the shed? I am semi-retired, and needed something to constructively fill my time outside of walking Montgomery. I had tried to rejoin the hobby of model building some years back but that had gone pear-shaped. I had however brought the kits up north with me. Being more settled, I was able to leave the sense of it being a pressurised project that had to be completed as soon as possible. My inventory of tools and paints grew, and eventually I had reached the situation where I needed a permanent space.

A shed kit was purchased, the installers built it in a rain storm in a matter of a couple of hours. A work space, shelving units, and second hand cupboards were set up. This was not to be all though. There is a bit of a culture up here whereby your shed is also a social space. In went our old sofa set, a tv and a sound bar. No need for a beer fridge, this is Aberdeenshire. The shed of beer and plastic was born. It does have a name, “Badger Jack’s”.
What to expect? Musings on model making, builds, beer with some added rock and cricket along the way.
